Thanks for the memories

We had a fabulous time at the wedding this weekend. It really was nice to meet up with our old friends from our first neighborhood. The bride and the groom (son of our friends) were fun and it was a wonderful party to celebrate their marriage. It was a little unnerving to enjoy spending time with our former teenage babysitter (sister of the groom), now a mom of four young adults. It rained and rained the day of the wedding but everything and everybody stayed relatively dry.

Sunday’s weather was great for our drive back to NH. Gail and Donnie came back w/ us. Gail and I drove separately and made what we thought would be a quick stop at the Yankee Candle store off I91. Not a quick stop after all but we did our share for New England’s economy. The four couples have been friends and kept in contact for over 30 years. It’s been a great friendship for all of us!

You were doing what we were doing catching up on old friends of 30+ years ago when we recently visited Connecticut. Interesting, isn’t it, to see how things went for them and how they grew. You mentioned the Yankee Candle outlet. We passed one on our way to Vermont but didn’t have time to stop. I knew I’d find something I wanted and didn’t have an inch of space left in the luggage to pack anything else in. Now here I am wishing I had a collection of nice smelling candles for the holidays. I know you can buy them in other places, but it’s just not the same as one of those huge outlet stores!
