Renovation – : to restore to a former better state (as by cleaning, repairing, or rebuilding) from Merriam Webster
My definition – I’m going insane!
Not really, it just feels that way.
I have my den/office/tv room/computer porch back, and it’s wonderful. The rest of the house? Well, there are places you can barely walk through due to the stuff, all the stuff.
This is the first “used” house we ever bought. Our first home in Richmond was a 3 bedroom ranch. We bought it new in 1975. By the time we moved in 1984, we’d done some wallpapering, lots of landscaping, put in central air, carpeted the living and dining room, and that was basically it. Oh, and storm windows and doors.
Second new house in Richmond? Well, we were only there for four years and didn’t do much.
Third new house was in Overland Park, KS. We moved there in 1988. More landscaping and some paint, but that was it.
Now we’re here and we’ve been here since 1998. This is THE longest I’ve lived in any house, ever. The house was built in 1984, and we knew we’d have stuff to do. We just somehow never got around to it.
We’re around to it now and getting a lot done.
It is of course, taking longer than anticipated.
It is of course, costing more than anticipated.
It is going to be awesome!
Oh, and the photos up at the top – the header… Those are from past years…
